RNE pays tribute on the one year anniversary of the tragic passing of Mr Shinya Abe
Today colleagues at RNE paid tribute on the one year anniversary of the tragic passing of Mr Shinya Abe. Shinya was a dedicated and committed colleague and friend who came to RNE from Japan and greatly contributed to FAO’s work in the critical area of water and natural resources management in RNE. Colleagues remembered Shinya today by gathering in the garden, by the tree that was planted in his memory one year ago, and shared a moment of silence dedicated to Shinya and his family. A tribute plate was engraved in his memory and will be sent to his family. Shinya is greatly missed and his spirit remains with us always.
During the commemoration Mr. Abdessalam OULD AHMED, FAO Assistant Director General and Regional Representative, addressed a speech to pay tribute to Mr. Shinya Abe’s contribution to the work and mandate of FAO in the region.
