The Nigerian entertainment industry is mourning the demise of famous gospel singer Sammie Okposo.

Fellow entertainers and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn the late singer.

Sharing a picture of them together, veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo said, “This was exactly a month ago in the US. We spent 2 weeks together and fellowshipped as men. Ate, drank and, as I’m known to do, teased you….Made plans for the New Year. Yet, I’m struggling and looking for words to capture our relationship…This one pain me enter blood. My prayers are with your family as you rest in power, peace and praise.”

Fellow gospel singer, Dunsin Oyekan tagged the late Wellu-Wellu crooner to a photo of a burning candle captioned “Father in heaven! Take your rest soldier.”

Sammie Okposo passed away this morning, a representative for the family confirmed. He was 51.
