Courses with a view – the most beautiful seaside golf courses in the Vanilla islands

The splendor of the islands of the Indian Ocean is no longer to be proven. Between mountains, luxuriant nature and turquoise waters, the Vanilla islands transport you to paradise. If it is quite common to enjoy the landscapes during hikes or days at the beach, it is less common to think of admiring those offered by the golf courses. However, the various clubs in the region offer magnificent views, so that you can appreciate the beauty of the Vanilla islands at its best. Today we would like to introduce you to the 5 most beautiful ones.

Mauritius: home to 3 exceptional courses

Accessible by boat only, the Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club offers its visitors a technical Par 72 in a heavenly setting. The design by golf champion Bernhard Langer has won several awards. Among others, it was voted one of the 10 most beautiful courses in the world by Golf World Magazine.

At the end of the course, the club’s restaurant offers a variety of fine dining options to enjoy while admiring the beautiful view of the entire course and the Indian Ocean. Players can also enjoy a relaxing moment on the club’s private beach.

The course at the Four Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita is certainly one of the most beautiful that Ernie Els has designed. The golfer himself describes the 18th hole as “one of the most impressive in the world”. All along the course, you will discover a stunning view of the ocean, while enjoying a lush tropical nature, perfectly integrated into the circuit. The first Mauritian course to meet United States Golf Association standards, the golf course hosted one of the stages of the Vanilla Islands Pro-Am tours (VIPAT) 2019.

To finish your golf day in style, you can enjoy the restaurant and wellness services offered by the Four-Season clubhouse. The most passionate players will appreciate combining their game at the Anahita Golf Club with a session at the Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club.

With its course perfectly integrated into the green landscape, the Heritage Golf Club will similarly amaze its users. Located between lakes and lagoons, this Par 72 was voted best golf course in the Indian Ocean in 2014 and 2015.

Built on the Bel Ombre estate, the club offers several wellness areas for a relaxing moment in a luxurious setting. It is also possible to stay on site in the comfort of villas with swimming pool, to enjoy a little longer the wonderful setting offered by the club.

The Paradise Golf Club, designed by the professional player Tony Johnstone, offers a splendid view of the Lagon du Morne. This 18-hole course of 5,924 meters is among the most beautiful golf in Mauritius.

This golf course is part of the beachcomber hotel domain. Visitors are not limited to golfing: tennis, windsurfing, scuba diving and more await you in this high-class establishment. It is also possible to enjoy a relaxing spa area, a gourmet restaurant, as well as sumptuous accommodations, for those wishing to extend their stay on site.

In the Seychelles, a splendid course in a sumptuous hotel

The Constance Lemuria Golf Club is regularly designated as the most beautiful course in the world. Located on the island of Praslin, between jungle, mountains and ocean, it offers an unmatched panorama and an impeccable course.

Each hole offers a grandiose spectacle. The last 6 holes are particularly renowned for their landscape. The 15th hole is particularly appreciated by golfers, for its technicality as well as for its view on the Indian Ocean. The bar and restaurant are located near this hole, so that visitors can enjoy this magical environment. Spa, restaurant, golf, diving: all the infrastructures present on the Lemuria resort’s domain participate in the wonder of the most beautiful golf course in Seychelles.

In Reunion Island, a technical course in an idyllic setting

The Golf du Bassin Bleu, designed by Robert Berthelet, offers golfers a technical circuit and diverse landscapes. Indeed, while the first half of the course is played in front of the sea and offers an unobstructed view of the Reunionese coasts, the second half is played in the shade of eucalyptus trees.

No detail has been left to chance, and the most beautiful club in Reunion Island offers many accommodations for players to relax at the end of the game. The golf course’s wellness area offers numerous treatments and massages. A 220m² swimming pool, with a view of the ocean, also allows visitors to indulge in the beauty of the landscape. The club’s restaurant offers a 360° panorama of the island’s mountains and the surrounding ocean.

Don’t hesitate any longer and conquer the golf courses of the Vanilla islands. For a trip rich in discovery, choose an inter-island trip. You will be able to test yourself on the splendid courses of the Seychelles, the technical courses of Reunion Island, or the famous Mauritian Golf Clubs. The Vanilla islands are waiting for you for a wonderful and unforgettable golfing trip!
